2. OPEN COMMENT PERIOD The Open Comment Period provides an opportunity to address the Mayor and City Council regarding concerns or ideas on any topic. To be considerate of everyone at this meeting, public comment will be limited to three minutes per person. Participants are to state their names for the record. Comments, which cannot be made within these limits, should be submitted in writing to the City Recorder at nancy.dean@clearfieldcity.org. The Mayor and City Council encourage civil discourse for everyone who participates in the meeting.
3. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE 2025-03 AMENDING LANGUAGE TO TITLE 7 OF THE CLEARFIELD CITY CODE REGARDING MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC SAFETY BACKGROUND: On-street parking has been a persistent problem throughout the City. In an effort to help with enforcement, staff is proposing amendments to Title 7, Chapter 3, Stopping, Standing, and Parking. Current code and proposed amendments were discussed with council during a work session held on January 14, 2025. The proposed amendments will tighten up the code and make enforcement easier, while providing a clear and concise language regarding on-street parking/storage of vehicles. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Ordinance 2025-03 amending language to Title 7 of the Clearfield City Code regarding motor vehicles and traffic safety and authorize the mayor’s signature to any necessary documents.
4. ANNUAL MAYORAL APPOINTMENT OF THE MAYOR PRO TEM BACKGROUND: Mayor Shepherd desires to appoint the Mayor Pro Tem for the 2025 calendar year with the Council’s advice and consent. RECOMMENDATION: Approve and Consent to the mayor’s appointment for the Mayor Pro Tem for the calendar year 2025 and authorize the mayor’s signature to any necessary documents.
